6 June 2007. Carlisle
2007 is now in the history books. Around 160 Merkur owners and their
families enjoyed the show at Carlisle Events' All Ford Nationals. The MCA
again won the largest club award with 91 cars on the showfield and the weather
cooperated for a fun weekend enjoying, talking about (and fixing!) our beloved
Merkurs. Thanks to all our sponsors
BAT,
Meguiars,
North
American Cosworth Specialists,
OPMD and Rapido for
their generous contributions that made the awards banquet a success.Check back here in the next few weeks for pictures of this event and visit our Carlisle 2007 forum if you want to learn more, ask questions or make contact with those that attended. 8 December 2006.
Many of you know Peter Cipolla and his IMSA IS Merkur XR4Ti race car. Peter and
this car have been to Carlisle a couple times, but the race-track is where this
car belongs, and Peter makes frequent visits. Over the past year Peter has been
busy, but not so much with his IS car. Instead, he located and purchased the
only IMSA GTU Merkur XR4Ti race car ever built, which was funded by Ford in 1983
in preparation for the Merkur launch in 1985. In conjunction with this addition
to his "Merkur Race Car Garage", Peter has created
a web-site on these cars and other racing
Merkurs. It's a must-visit for any Merk-head!Visit www.XR4TiRacing.com to see more. |

7 October 2006. Speaking of neighbors, a big thanks to Sue and Phil Dorsey, who opened up their house after the show so that the part could continue into the evening for the fireworks display. A great day for all who attended! Thanks to Frank Cheh who took the photos of the event. |
