On September 30th, the Merkur Club of America held a 'gathering' at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville Connecticut. For those of you that do not know Lime Rock, it's a wonderful small road circuit set in the heart of the Berkshire Hills in Connecticut. We met on the infield parking area which was clearly cordoned off for the MCA.
On this day, the North-East region of the SCCA North American Road Racing Championship was being held, which provided plenty of thrills and spills all day. At lunch-time, we did the traditional pace laps which were documented by Dave Ziminski's in-car camera. In fact, one of the morning session's spills was still being cleaned up at turn 2 as we came around - much to the surprise of the tow-truck operator!
